Raised in Monroe's Booker T. community, I graduated from Carroll High School after enlisting in the Army through the Delayed Entry Program (DEP). I continued my education at Louisiana Delta Community College before transferring to Grambling State University. After graduation, my path took me from Louisiana to North Carolina, back to Louisiana, and eventually Texas. I learned firsthand that earning a degree did not automatically provide access to stable capital or better opportunities.
Lived experience encourages ownership and accountability.
I aim to connect my work across creativity, education, and community impact LaStarClothing™ provides vision with SHERROUSE and NVRZLP representing distinct parts of the journey. SHERROUSE draws from my family's history at 2110 Sherrouse Street, property purchased by my Dad, Billy Coleman as early as 1964. NVRZLP reflects my belief in progress through motion.
Growth starts with ownership coupled with direction. I value practical knowledge, self-development, accountability, and the ability to turn what you learn into actionable steps. My approach create routes that encourage others to do the same
